Leading global beverage importer, Heathwick, is excited to announce the exclusive UK launch of DC Brau Brewing from Washington, DC. This is the first time the brewery’s beers will be available in the UK.
Heathwick is delighted to bring DC Brau Brewing’s bold and innovative beers to the UK imported craft beer market, showcasing these exciting, modern American craft beers to UK drinkers.
Founded in 2009, DC Brau Brewing is Washington DC's first packaging brewery since 1956 and makes a range of award-winning craft beer. Since their first brew in 2011, the brewery has crafted beer using a delicious and uniquely American blend of North American and European techniques and ingredients.
All packaged in 355ml can format, four year-round beers will be making their debut in the UK this month. This includes:
Tuk Tuk, 4.5% ABV – Tuk Tuk was inspired by the world-renowned lagers of Asia that use rice as part of their recipes. Tuk Tuk is a very approachable lager with minimal hop flavour and a refreshingly light body coupled with lively carbonation.
Available in 24 x 355ml cans.
In Session, 4.5% ABV – In Session is a crisp and refreshing IPA that is packed with flavour, has a smooth mouthfeel and is brewed with 100% Centennial hops. It is just bitter enough to know you are drinking an IPA.
Available in 24 x 355ml cans.
Joint Resolution, 5.5% ABV – A very quaffable Hazy IPA. Hopped with Falconers Flight, Amarillo, and Mosaic to name a few, this beer has a wonderful aroma of mango, orange and tangerine.
Available in 24 x 355ml cans.
The Public, 6.0% ABV – American Pale Ale style, The Public Pale Ale emits a pleasing and heavy floral aroma accented by mild citrus notes introduced by Centennial hops supported by sufficiently balanced malt backbone.
Available in 24 x 355ml cans.
DC Brau CEO and co-founder Brandon Skall commented that: “The UK has been a target for our overseas expansion for the last few years with its growing consumer demand for quality craft beers. We look forward to sharing our passion for craft beer with UK drinkers.”
Richard Sullock, Commercial Manager at Heathwick, said: “We completed a very successful test with DC Brau late last year and this has proved the perfect platform to launch DC Brau’s exciting styles in both the retail and on-trade channels.”
With the addition of DC Brau Brewing to their distribution portfolio, Heathwick supplies a selective range of high quality American craft beer competitively positioned with comparable UK styles.
The DC Brau Brewing range will be available to consumers nationally through online retailers, including Beers of Europe, Beer Sniffers and Hops and Boogie in Manchester. Trade wholesalers include Nectar Imports and EeBria Trade.
The range will feature in tasting events held by the Brewers Association across the UK commencing 15th March, 2022.

About DC Brau
Not too long ago, our nation’s capital was a world-class beer town without a brewery to call its own. Since Christian Heurich had closed the doors to his brewery in the 1950s, Washington DC had no brewery whose products were available in local stores and on tap outside its site of production. There were brewpubs, yes, but no breweries. Enter Brandon Skall & Jeff Hancock.
Starting in 2009, the duo went about filling the glaring void in the local beer market. Two years later, on Tax Day 2011, DC Brau Brewing Company officially tapped its first keg of beer entirely brewed, packaged and sold within the District of Columbia. Since then, the brewery has crafted award-winning beer — utilising a delicious and uniquely American blend of North American and European techniques and ingredients — with distribution throughout the greater National Capital Region, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts and beyond.
